About Us
Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. We are based in Bishopbriggs and provide our piping service throughout the whole of Scotland. We are always willing to consider jobs further afield too.
Our piper Alasdair Beaton started his piping career at the age of 14 receiving tuition first from Willie Beverage formerly of the Royal Scots and British Caledonian Airways Pipe Band and then from Jim Elmslie who was part of the famous Muirhead &  Sons Pipe Band winning the World Championships five years in a row from 1965 - 1969. At the time they held the record for the most championships in a row until Strathclyde Police won six in a row from 1981 – 1986.
Alasdair first started his pipe band career with Milngavie Juvenile Pipe Band before progressing up to Milngavie’s Grade 4 band. After a long and happy spell with Milngavie Alasdair moved to The Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Pipe Band competing in Grade 2. In 2006 Alasdair went out to New York with the Fire Service to take part in the Tartan Day Celebrations. He played at various engagements throughout the city in the week running up to the parade down 6 Avenue including a solo spot in the centre of Grand Central Station. Strathclyde Fire & Rescue led the parade down 6 Avenue.
In 2007 Alasdair joined Lanark and District under the stewardship of Pipe Major Stuart Shedden. At this time Lanark had just secured promotion from Grade 4A to Grade 3B. In the bands first season in 3B they won the European Championships held that year in Inverness. As a result of other prizes won that season, including 3rd at the World Championships, the band was crowned Champion of Champions and promoted to Grade 3A. Alasdair continued to enjoy success with Lanark over the next 2 years before joining the Isle of Islay competing in the same grade. In 2011, the Islay Pipe Band won the European Championships in 3A. Alasdair's 2nd major title. In December 2012, Alasdair was invited to join Johnstone Pipe Band and is very much looking forward to the forth coming competition season.
In January 2000 Alasdair enlisted in the Territorial Army joining 32 (Scottish) Royal Signal Regiment (V) and after completing recruit training he joined the Corps Pipes and Drums. Since joining, Alasdair has reached the rank of Corporal and has played at many prestigious events. These include the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the centenary celebrations of the Canadian Royal Corps of Signals which included performing at a Gala Concert in front of HRH Princess Ann, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (2007 & 2012) and the first ever Military Tattoo to be held on Red Square in Moscow. In addition Alasdair has also seen active service in Iraq in 2005.
When hiring Alasdair to play at your event, you will get a very competent piper who is extremely well turned out at all times.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
